A Wonderful BEAR Walk: Community Fair

Last night's BEAR Walk: Community Fair was wonderful! We kicked the event off at 6PM, and Cornell's Big Red Marching Band made a grand entrance at 6:30. After their performance, Rich John introduced Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick, who encouraged us all about the bright future of Collegetown and the potential that the new developments are bringing. We also heard from Cornell Vice President of University Relations Joel Malina, and Student Assembly President Jordan Berger. The Hangovers and Red Solo, two of Cornell's amazing a capella groups, entertained through the evening as we enjoyed ice cream from Cornell Dairy, and visited table after table of local organizations, health and safety groups, and City representatives. The Cornell Police Department, Ithaca Fire Department, and Ithaca ReUse were just some of the many contributors that made this event a big success! On behalf of our fellow BEAR Walk committee members, we thank everyone who came last night to mingle, learn, network, and let loose. Together, we're strengthening what already is a fabulously unique and strong community!
