2016 AIDS Ride for Life

The 18th annual AIDS Ride for Life was a huge success! Hundreds of riders spent Saturday biking a 100-mile trek around beautiful Cayuga Lake to benefit the Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP). This year's event raised over $200,000, adding to the over $3.5 million that has been raised by it since its beginning! That money stays right here in the Southern Tier, dedicated to HIV awareness, education, prevention, and care. STAP was founded in 1984, and now operates from eight offices in an eight-county area, providing state of the art prevention education. They work to "create a world where HIV transmission is rare and those who are HIV+ lead healthy lives." STAP also distributes Narcan kits, and trains community members and service providers on their use. Already, STAP's kits have saved over 225 lives in our area! We are very honored to have been able to sponsor this year's ride, and look forward to working with STAP in the future to do what we can for this tremendous organization. Thank you to all who rode, volunteered, organized, and participated on Saturday. You are true rock stars!
